Behind The Camera

Before I share weddings, photographs and inspiration here, I thought I would start with something more personal.

After all, this journal is not only about my work. It is also about the things that shape it.

Photography has been part of my life for more than ten years now. Over the years, it has introduced me to countless places, stories and people. Many things have changed since I first picked up a camera, but my curiosity about people and the moments they share has remained the same.

When people visit a photographer’s website, they usually see the photographs first. But behind every image is a person, with their own story, interests and perspective. So this felt like the right place to share a little more about mine.

I have always been drawn to things that feel timeless.
Art, architecture, design, music and fashion photography have all shaped the way I see the world. I love paying attention to details, light and atmosphere. Often it is the smallest things that stay with me the longest.

Film photography has played a special role in that journey. It taught me to slow down, trust my instincts and be present in the moment.

What fascinates me most, though, is people. Their stories. Their relationships. The moments they share.
This is one of the reasons why I love weddings so much. They bring together all the things that matter most.
Family, friendship, connection and love.

After almost 100 weddings, one thing has never changed: no two weddings are ever the same.
But the reason everyone gathers remains the same.
It always comes back to love.

Over the years, I have learned that people do not need to perform in front of a camera. They simply need to feel comfortable enough to be themselves. The most meaningful moments are usually the ones that happen naturally.
Moments that cannot be recreated.

Thank you for being here.

Love,
Maria
