Sophie & Max – A Wedding in Bolzano, South Tyrol

Some weddings leave a quiet but lasting impression – not because they’re loud or extravagant, but because everything simply feels right. Sophie and Max’s wedding in Bolzano was exactly that: calm, elegant, and full of honest, heartfelt moments.

A Weekend in Bolzano

The evening before already felt special. With freshly baked pizza, Italian wine and a relaxed atmosphere, family and friends gathered in a way that felt easy and natural. It was the beginning of a weekend that reflected everything Sophie and Max had hoped for – lightness, connection, and time together.

The wedding day started with getting ready at Hotel Mondschein – a charming place in the centre of Bolzano, known for its historic character and timeless design. The first photos of the day were taken in a setting that felt just right for the occasion.

Civil Ceremony in Appiano

The ceremony took place in Appiano on the Wine Road, surrounded by soft hills, vineyards, and warm light. It was a conscious decision to keep things small – personal, calm, and focused on what truly mattered.

After the aperitif and a shared lunch, we took a short, relaxed walk through Bolzano’s old town for a few portraits. While the guests enjoyed their afternoon freely, Sophie and Max also had time to pause and recharge before the evening began.

Elegant Dinner at Parkhotel Laurin

The celebration continued at Parkhotel Laurin – one of the most iconic hotels in the city. Dinner was held in the pavilion: five courses, Champagne, good wine, warm conversations and an atmosphere shaped by thoughtful details and a sense of closeness.

Later, music filled the garden – a mix of Italian classics and modern songs that brought everyone to the dance floor. The celebration flowed into the night, with dancing, laughter and the kind of joy that makes a wedding unforgettable.

A Personal Reflection

Spending two days with Sophie and Max reminded me how powerful simplicity can be. Their wedding was intentional, heartfelt, and full of meaning – nothing more than needed, and everything in the right place.

Weddings in Italy and South Tyrol have long held a special place in my heart. I’m grateful that my work takes me back to these places again and again – to capture real stories and to share them with people who make those stories truly special.
